Welcome to the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University. The Department is committed to providing high-quality education at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Chemistry and Biochemistry Technology.
The Department is equipped with advanced research facilities and state-of-the-art scientific instruments. Our faculty members conduct research across a wide range of areas in chemistry and biochemistry, including interdisciplinary research and technology transfer. Over the years, several faculty members have received prestigious national and international recognition, including Distinguished Scientist Awards and Young Scientist Awards.
History of the Department
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, was one of the first five academic departments established when Chiang Mai University was founded in 1964.
Since its establishment, the Department has carried out four principal missions: education, research, academic services to the community, and the preservation of arts and culture together with the conservation of natural resources and the environment. These missions are undertaken with the objective of producing highly qualified chemistry graduates who are equipped to meet the needs of society and contribute to the development of the country.
